When creating this collection, Creffield drew on Shakespeare s original setting for the play – in a wood outside Athens, and began to harbour a vision of the figures as archaic Greek ones . Photographs of these ancient statues became his source material and undoubtedly inspired the features of the figures in Titania: Study II.
